OUR APPROACH
Massage and physiotherapy at Optimove
Massage at Optimove is separate from physiotherapy. Our massage treatments are delivered by Jordan Copans, a Soft Tissue Therapist and Sports Massage Therapist. Remedial massage is provided by our physiotherapists and stays part of physiotherapy: see our remedial massage page.
If you need a diagnosis, a rehabilitation plan or treatment for an injury, our physiotherapists can help, and your massage therapist can point you in the right direction. Many clients also combine massage with personal training or Pilates.

Your experience
What to expect at your massage appointment
A short conversation
Your therapist asks about your health, your activity and what you would like from the session, so the treatment is chosen for you.
Your treatment
Pressure and technique are adjusted as you go. Let your therapist know at any point if you would like it lighter or firmer.
Afterwards
Your therapist will give simple aftercare advice for the treatment you had, such as drinking water and moving gently. You can usually carry on with your day.
Who benefits
Who benefits from massage
Massage suits a wide range of people: runners and gym-goers, desk workers who feel tight by mid-afternoon, people who carry tension in the neck and shoulders, and anyone with a niggle that keeps returning. Many of our clients work around Marylebone, Fitzrovia and Mayfair and fit appointments around the working day.
If your main concern is one area of the body, our pages on lower back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain explain how our physiotherapists approach it. For general advice on back pain, see the NHS back pain guide.
